What is long-sightedness?

Hyperopia (long-sightedness) is a refractive error in which nearby objects appear blurred, whilst distant objects are often seen clearly. In hyperopia, the eyeball is too short in relation to the eye’s refractive power. The degree of hyperopia is measured in plus dioptres and can be corrected with spectacles or contact lenses.
